Saturday at Suzuka was the first chance to show that he really meant it and, with bravura, Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel demonstrated that he really has not given up on the championship yet. On a demanding track, under difficult conditions that saw rivals dropping by the wayside, he kept his cool and clocked pole position. Only Sunday's race will show if the car can keep up with him
